As a twin mom, I constantly “have my hands full”. If you’re a parent of multiples, you’ll get that quote. You hear it all the time! If you already have your hands full with kids, it makes it a lot harder to handle anything else. And, it’s pretty difficult to use a regular diaper bag when you are on-the-go with your kiddos. Ever had your diaper bag slip off your shoulder when you are reaching in to grab your child out of the car? Or, if you are a parent of multiples- ever try to carry a shoulder bag while carrying both kids? It can be a lot to juggle!
I’ve had the opportunity to test and give a review on the Elizabeth bag by Lily Jade, and this bag completely exceeded my expectations! This isn’t just a standard diaper bag that you throw over your shoulder- it actually transitions into a backpack, which makes it easier for parents like me, who have more than one child. Yay for one less thing to juggle!
Before the Elizabeth bag, I had a plain diaper bag that I chose out of a last minute necessity. Looking back, I really wish I would have made an educated decision in where I spent my money. The bag I bought was cheap, and didn’t hold together. It literally lasted me less than a year!
While I just received the Elizabeth bag last week, I can already tell the material is great. It’s leather, which will last a long time, with proper handling. Now, the very first thing that I noticed and was very impressed by was that the diaper bag came in another bag. Not a typical plastic shipping bag you usually get when you order clothing online, but a fabric bag. Since the material is leather, any prolonged exposure to lighting can cause discoloration, drying out and damage. Usually, I toss the plastic bags. I would definitely keep this to protect my bag, and it’s aesthetically pleasing, so I wouldn’t mind keeping it in my closet (without it looking like junk!).
The leather is soft, and the feel of it reminds me of a Kate Spade bag I’ve owned for years. I chose this Camel and Gold Elizabeth bag, because I knew it would go with anything I wear. I’m big on neutrals, but I would have honestly got this bag in any color!
When I opened the bag, I was completely surprised to find an organizer! Because my old diaper bag was trashed, I converted my favorite purse into a diaper bag. My purse literally turned into Mary Poppins’ bag, and you never knew what you were going to pull out of it, because it was a mess. I love that the Elizabeth bag has so many pockets, and I don’t have to dig through everything to find what I’m looking for. Also, is this not a genius idea- a bag within a bag??
The color on the inside is “jade”, which if you have ever seen the inside of our house- this color is everywhere! In pictures, and in person this color is absolutely gorgeous!
See what I mean about juggling? Both kids were trying to escape, because they wanted to see the ducks.
I ended up setting the kids down. I didn’t have to worry about dropping my bag and didn’t have to worry about putting my bag on the wet, muddy ground.
I was asked: “What is one reason why you WOULDN’T recommend this product?”
I couldn’t think of one off the top of my head, so I sat around and pondered. I even went to the Lily Jade website to do some more research. All of the Lily Jade bags are functional, stylish, and comfortable. One of my favorite things about this product is that I don’t have to dedicate it just to a diaper bag, as it can transition into a purse or messenger bag. Even on the website, you can get “sized” to see how each bag will look on you based off your height!
I also found out that Lily Jade does charitable donations, giveaways and offers community support for families committed to adoption #ljadoption
The absolute only thing I could come up with is the price point. When you initially look at the price for the Elizabeth bag, you might be in shock- It is $340. But, I do believe you get what you pay for with this bag. It is 100% worth that cost (just think- use the bag for 12 months and it’s $28/month; use it for 24 months, and it’s only $14/month, and so on)!
For my fellow couponers, use the code ” SPRINGOFF25 ” to get $25 off any bag that is $240 or more. This is valid through April 14th, 2018! Also, if you go to the Lily Jade Instagram, there is a giveaway that is worth $650!!
